About
A Thriving Congregation in McClellandtown, Pa
In the late 1970’s Reverend Ethel Huber retired leaving a thriving church to Pastor Bill Parks who came from the Baltimore, MD area. At that time the church purchased a track of land on Route 21, built a beautiful building with a seating capacity of 450 to 500 people. After Reverend Bill Parks resigned the next pastor, Reverend Fred Shoppe, came from Pittsburgh, PA. During his time we paid down the debt considerably.
After his retirement Reverend Tim Tanner, a nephew of Reverend Bill Parks, became pastor. He had the great pleasure of burning the mortgage making the church debt-free. After Reverend Tim Tanner resigned in 2013 the new pastor became Reverend Dr. Mike Goodling. In May 2018 he has resigned to accept a pastorate near his ailing parents home. We wish him the best in his new church. A new pastor has been elected. If you don’t have a church home, we invite you to become a part of Glad Tidings Church where you will be welcomed with open arms. Thank you and God bless!
